Clean, comfortable and very well presented.

All we had expected and warm and cozy, great area for exercising the dog which had plenty of room for wandering loose.

Darts and taekwondo championships to come to Bendigo

Bendigo will host two national sporting events later this year when the 37th Australian Darts Championships and the Australian Taekwondo National Championships come to the city.  From July 26 to August 6 the Australian Darts Championships will be held at the All Seasons Hotel. Each state and territory will be represented by the best eight male and female players. The Victorian team includes Justin Thompson, who played in the Bendigo Dart League and is delighted to be given the opportunity to display his skills in his hometown.  The Bendigo Stadium will host the Taekwondo Championships from August 25 to 28 and it is the first time in the history of the sport that the event has been held outside of an Australian capital city.

Ulumbarra Theatre

Bendigo’s Ulumbarra Theatre celebrated its first birthday on the weekend.  Ulumbarra which means ‘gather together’ in the Dja Dja Wurrung language has lived up to its name with over 117,500  people through its doors to over 270 performances, functions, conferences and events.  City of Greater Bendigo Capital Venues and Events Manager, David Lloyd, said Ulumbarra’s first year has been a great success and its reputation continues to grow at a local and national level.  “It’s simply been a fantastic investment in our city and if anyone hasn’t already taken the opportunity to visit Ulumbarra, make 2016 the year to take in a performance, attend an event or go on a tour of this unique building. There are some fabulous shows coming up and you won’t be disappointed,” Mr Lloyd said.

Aldi has now opened its fourth store in Bendigo and it is situated at the Epsom village. Only 1 km from Benstay Blue. This will further enhance your stay at Benstay Blue now, with a greater choice of groceries and the associated specials that come with shopping at Aldi.

Capture your “Marilyn Moment” in Hargreaves Mall

Friday March 18, 2016

The City of Greater Bendigo is providing visitors to the Hargreaves Mall with a unique opportunity to recreate the famous Marilyn Monroe scene from the movie the Seven Year Itch.  This is the same scene replicated by the eight metre high “Forever Marilyn” sculpture at the entrance to Rosalind Park.

A special subway grate complete with a sensor operated wind gust and a New York street scene backdrop has been set up to allow people to have some fun by creating and capturing their own special “Marilyn Moment” during their time in Hargreaves Mall.

The public will be able to have their own “Marilyn Moment” in Hargreaves Mall between 10am and 4pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays or at other times as advertised commencing this coming Tuesday March 22.
